Whereas I can see myself re-watching the previous arcs, this one's gotta be a pass for me, though I guess it's worth watching once for Meruem's development.
Anyway, this is the weakest arc of the show despite the solid payoff with Meruem. Not really the feeling you want the audience to have for a character introduced as *the* ultimate badass of the show in the first season.

One series ran from 1999 to 2001 from Nippon Animation and lasted for 62 episodes. By the time the big gold statue came out I was past the point of caring and wanted the fight to be over before it began. Hunter x Hunter was then adapted into two different anime series. I was expecting more from it since there was the aggravating amount of times Netero's arms went blurry as if he was going to do some badass stuff but nothing really happened. And then there's Netero's fight with Meruem which is basically a giant gold statue making a bunch of gestures. You know, Gon isn’t the only main character in the series and this is where you are introduced to Killua and the others. Kite's death isn't shown, which is stupid. It adapts Chapter 1 to 38 of the Hunter X Hunter Manga and is the first arc in the series. There are other complaints I have, though the last I'll mention are the anticlimactic battles. I couldn't believe how many times I was getting spoon-fed characters' emotional states and plot developments. I think it single-handedly turned this arc from being possibly one of the best in anime to just so-so. Holy hell, the narration was the worst part about the arc. Most of them I didn't care about for a majority of the arc.
Another thing that is pretty bad about the arc are the side characters. Neither the manga nor the anime have reached their end, though they are. But, again, it takes forever to get anywhere. The series is based on the manga by Yoshihiro Togashi, which began its run in 1998. I can see why this arc is considered the best of Hunter x Hunter since Meruem's development is one of the best of any antagonist. As soon as July 2021 rolls around, all five seasons of Hunter x Hunter will be on Netflix. There are four seasons on Netflix in June 2021. The sixth season premiered in 2014, and since then, fans have been waiting patiently and impatiently for season 7. 2011 and April 18, 2014, covering up to the Election story arc. Currently, there are six seasons of Hunter x Hunter. It wasn't until Meruem met Komugi that I found interest in the new antagonists, and it wasn't until the last two episodes that I found the viewing experience rewarding. It also takes forever to get through and I got Fairy Tail vibes from the egregious time spent on certain things. It has a very slow start after the GI arc.
